Was The Blaze wrong – or right – to suspend conservative commentator Tomi Lahren?
Now’s your chance to weigh in. Take our poll at the bottom of this post.
First, a quick summary of the controversy, which boiled over on March 20.
The news broke that Glenn Beck’s publication, The Blaze, was suspending conservative commentator, Tomi Lahren. “Lahren’s show is suspended for effect for at least one week starting Monday, according to TheDC’s sources,” reported The Daily Caller.
The Daily Caller blamed Lahren’s “inflammatory style” for the suspension, writing, “Tensions were high between Lahren and her coworkers at The Blaze even before she called pro-life conservatives hypocrites in an appearance on ABC’s ‘The View’ on Friday.”
According to the Hill, Lahren appeared on The View and said “she is pro-choice and called pro-life conservatives hypocrites.” The Hill quoted her as saying, “I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies.”
On Twitter, Lahren has posted a stream of tweets defending herself. Examples:
“When people praise you, don’t let it go to your head. When people criticize you, don’t let it go to your heart.” #mondaymotivation

Funny, some of the self-appointed “conservative police” now attacking me are the same folks who hated Trump, said he wouldn’t win…🤔

Listen, I am not glorifying abortion. I don’t personally advocate for it. I just don’t think it’s the government’s place to dictate. https://t.co/qRjbAtJdo7

Glenn Beck also took to Twitter.
people choose to believe what they will, but the proof is in the Blaze coverage of primaries.I do not hire nor fire.more voices not less https://t.co/QfmJgstFGd

Here’s the point of tension. Lahren and her supporters say it’s wrong for conservative media to arguably hold a person’s freedom of speech against them and should accept contrary views. Others says it’s a conservative site, so it has a right to choose commentators that follow that belief system.
What do you think? Was The Blaze right or wrong to suspend Tomi Lahren?
