FOLLOWING reactions trailing the tragedy that befell one of the
Boeing 737 Max 8 in the fleet of Ethiopian Airlines which crashed
few minutes after takeoff from the Bole International airport,
Addis Ababa en route Nairobi, Kenya killing the whole 157 souls on
board Sunday morning, information reaching Tribune Online just
indicated that no such aircraft type is presently operating in the
country’s airspace.

According to the image maker of the Nigerian Civil Aviation
Authority (NCAA), Sam Adurogboye, from the records of the airplanes
flying in the country, there was no record of such aircraft.

This is just as Nigeria’s Air Peace airline said it was yet to
take delivery of the ten Boeing 737 Max 8 he ordered for last
year.

The airline while saying there was nothing to worry about said
presently it had only placed an order for the aircraft type in
question according to the specification of the airline.

While saying it was too early for anyone to start running
commentaries on the tragedy added that Boeing as a reputable
international aircraft manufacturer would rise to the occasion.

The airline, however, used the occasion to assure its customers
of safety promising that it was ready to go any length to give
priority to the safety of the traveling public without compromising
safety.
