I Will Restructure PDP
High Chief Raymond Alegho Dokpesi, one of the contenders for the position of national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has assured that he would restructure the party and enshrine internal democracy if he becomes the chairman of the party.
Dokpesi gave the assurance in Bauchi on Tuesday during a meeting with PDP leaders and stakeholders from Bauchi, Yobe and Borno states ahead of the party’s national convention slated for August 17 in Rivers State.
“I am in the race to change the change in the centre and to curtail the PDP crisis that is trying to bring down the party. I feel that I am the best man for the office if PDP is to make impact and win all electrons in 2019.
“I am in Bauchi to solicit for the support of the delegates from the three states that are present here and I want to you to vote for me, I assure you that the party will reclaim enviable place and win the two states of Borno and Yobe which PDP has never won.
“I assure that in 2019, Borno and Yobe will be controlled by PDP. These states have produced prominent politicians in the likes of Adamu Chiroma, Adamu Waziri, Kashimawo Imam. Despite that, we have never been in opposition in these two states.
“If I win, I promise that these two states will be control by PDP,” Dokpesi assured.
Among other prominent delegates present during Dokpesi’s visit were Senator Bala Kariya, Senator Babayo Gamawa, Alhaji Sani Toro, Abdulmalik Mahmud, and Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, Dokpesi’s Campaign Director General.
Speaking with newsmen, Musa Gabam said he threw his weight behind Dokpesi because there had never been any PDP stalwart that has dedicated his time and resources to promote the party like Dokpesi.
He urged the delegates to support him to become the next chairman of PDP.
