At least four Cameroonian soldiers have been injured by a landmine planted by Boko Haram, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.
Cameroonian newspaper, L’Oeil du Sahel, said the four soldiers were injured today when their truck climbed a landmine buried by Boko Haram between Zamga and Djibrili in Cameroon’s far north.
The body of another Cameroonian soldier killed in the Nigerian territory of Kumshe while fighting Boko Haram arrived Cameroon on Tuesday.
At least 150 soldiers and policemen have died in Cameroon while fighting the Nigeria-based terrorists who pledged allegiance to the Islamic State in 2015 and have been modelling their barbarism after the Middle East killers.
Nigerian leader Muhammadu Buhari has announced several times that the terrorists have been decimated and reduced to only soft targets, but recent incidents show clearly that Boko Haram may still, sadly, be waxing stronger.
Over 500 attacks, including more than 50 suicide bombings have left thousands of Cameroonian dead and hundreds of thousands displaced.
President Paul Biya of Cameroon who has vowed many times that Boko Haram would be crushed has never visited the war zone in three years even as countrymen continue to die for a nation that seems to have abandoned them.
