The first ever NBA Awards show takes place tonight in New York City. Heavy will have live results from tonight’s awards as soon as they are announced.
The award show kicks off on TNT at 9 p.m. Eastern. While there is intrigue over awards like Rookie of the Year, for months fans have been waiting to find out who won the 2017 NBA MVP. Russell Westbrook and James Harden are the two main finalists to win the award. While unofficial polls have projected Westbrook as the winner, nothing is official until it is announced tonight.
Drake will serve as the host of tonight’s event. Prior to this year, the NBA announced each award shortly after the regular season. The NFL recently switched to a similar format of announcing their awards at a live awards show, and the NBA has followed suit.
Here’s a look at the awards that will be handed out tonight courtesy of the NBA. The list will be updated as the winners are announced.
