Gunmen on Sunday morning stormed a Catholic church in the Southeastern Nigerian state of Anambra and killed many worshippers.

The gunmen stormed Saint Philip’s Catholic Church in the town of Ozubulu in Anambra State, and opened fire on worshippers.
This newspaper saw bodies strewn all around the crime scene with fresh blood splattered on the floor.
Details were still sketchy but online reports pointed to a possible hate crime carried out by religious fanatics.
One online account said Saint Philip’s is a luxurious place of worship consecrated about two years ago by the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Most Rev Dr Odili Okeke.
